Full course description

SPH Alumni Courses are open to all SPH alumni interested in continuing their education. Alumni can now enroll in online courses from Berkeley Public Health’s top rated online MPH program at a special rate for alumni (43% discount).

This 1-unit course teaches students cost-effectiveness analysis and related tools in a compact 3-week online format. Students will learn when and why to use alternative economic evaluation methods to assess benefits relative to costs of health policies and interventions. They will also learn to interpret and critique such analyses, and to conduct basic cost-effectiveness analyses themselves.

Week 1: Introduction, Overview of Economic Decision Analysis and CEA

Week 2: Costs, Estimating Effectiveness, Calculating Life Expectancy

Week 3 and 4: QALYs and Modeling

Alumni  completing this course will receive a Certificate of completion from the UC Berkeley School of Public Health.
